Not for someone I knew –
Never knew her –
Spoke to her, words a few
Never understood her.

She was far apart from me
In her imagination
Liked things cosy, modern, TV
And to let her hair down.

Isn’t that the key?
She lived her life like me
Same world, different ways
Of getting through the days.

Not right, not wrong,
Different ways of saying ‘I am here’.
Bringing up her family to be clear –
There is no other way.

She lived, day to day
Now she dies, and goes away –
Her thoughts and feelings,
And the sense of being

Rattling now, in time and space
Liberated from the human race
Rolling around in blissful ease
Part of another universe, please.
